How do I plan?

Hi guys,
Today I would like to explain how do I plan. Probably all of us have so many things going on. I keep finding myself in situations, when I have so many things to do, so I have no idea where shall I start. Everything seems to be urgent, all the time household chores are pilling up (especially clothes to wash and iron; add to this a sink full of dirty dishes – where are they coming from? – and you could possibly spend all day doing just this).
To try to stay on top of all my things, never ending to-do lists and new things to do continuously coming up, I needed a great planning system. As you might have read in one of my old posts, I am using a bullet journal. I used to use nozbe, which worked great for me, but unfortunately, I kept forgetting to charge my phone and there were a moments, when I needed to write very important event or appointment and my phone just died.
So I came back to using a bullet journal again. If you haven’t heard about bullet journal before, it is a customizable planner (basically notebook, where you can include any spread you can think of – but you are setting it up by yourself), which allows you to assign how much space for each month, week, day as you need. There is an original system designed by Carroll Ryder (you can watch how it works by clicking on creator’s name).
I use my bullet journal slightly different, because I found out that I can get more things done when I plan it in kind of funnel way. So let me explain three stages of my planning.
First stage: long term planning
I make long term goals approx. everyΒ  9 to 6 months. In this stage I include all goals, projects, appointments, etc. which are going to happen any time from now to up to 12 months. I simply create a future log (you can see it in almost every bullet journal set up video). It allows me to write all deadlines, events, appointments, which are meant to happen later in the future. I also include my long term goals, divided into smaller steps (it will be helpful in my next stage). And having all this written down, I don’t have to worry about them at the moment and I am ready to move to my next stage.
Second stage: monthly planning
As you can tell by the name, this planning happens every month. That time I have a calendar for that month, where I add all events and deadlines from my future log plus anything what comes up mean while. I also make use of my goals divided into steps in the previous stage, as I am including these steps as a goals in my monthly goals spread. I also divide them for smaller steps to make it easier to work on them during the month (just small tasks I can handle during one working session). At this point, I have my weekly spreads already set, so I assign each of these steps into a particular week. This allows me to visualise how much stuff I am able to achieve each month and see what will be left in any given project.
Third stage: weekly/daily planning
This is the last stage of my planning. At the end of the week, I assign tasks for each day in the following week. After that, every day I revise what have been done, keep adding any tasks which could appear mean time. Any task which wasn’t done at planned day is being migrated to the next day or if there are a lot of tasks waiting to be done, for any other loose day.
Also, there are a lot of other stuff, which I include in my bullet journal, like finance tracker, budget planner, savings log, sleep tracker, mood tracker, etc. All this is giving me great insight into my life and helps me to implement any adjustments, whenever I notice that something doesn’t go well.
This is all for today’s post. If you have your way of planning, I will be glad to read it in a comment section. For now I wish you a very productive day and I’ll see you in my next post.

2020 as a year of setting up good habits

Hi guys,

Today I would like to talk about setting New Year’s goals in general. What is the purpose of making this unofficial agreement with yourself? Why on the beginning of year, not at any time?

For this second question answer is very simple. With each year starting, there are a lot of people everywhere (literally everywhere) reflecting on their achievements, failures and events happening the year before. They are getting excited for things they want to achieve in the upcoming year. This kind of remind us that “hey, we’ve made these resolutions a year ago, let’s see how much did we manage to actually do”. They could have been made at any time in a year, but let’s be honest. Who is actually checking progress of our actions just like that? Or maybe I am the only one who needs New Year to make sure that goals will be at least reviewed?

And with the purpose of setting goals at all, there is a more complex thing to think about. I’ve came across two opinions. First stated that setting these goals actually motivate you to take an action. Second, that focusing on your goals, writing them down and seeing list of your commitments works quite opposite. For me both of above are correct to some extend. Although, I am setting goals each year, not always I am actually achieving them. But I think I found a solution.

First of all, I am not dreaming about my goals. My list works for me as a reminder and guide. Each goal has also a working plan, where it is divided into smaller parts and steps to achieve each of these parts. And finally, I am scheduling goals related task into my to do lists on weekly basis (as I plan in weekly intervals). After some time I will share with you my process of planning.

This way, my goals are not just a nice bullets in my planner. Kind of “one day” things. They are actual tasks, scheduled to work on. Like immediately. Not one day. Making sure that each week, there are some at least small steps being made towards achieving them.

And that’s it for today’s post. I wish you a very productive day and I’ll see you in my next post.

Set up a routine which works for everyone at home and stick to it

Hi guys,

Today I will talk about last of my 2020 resolutions. As you could see in this post, I have decided to focus on some things which are very important to me at the moment. It might seem that I went easy on myself this year (and this is most likely true), but I wanted to set goals, which will be possible to achieve. A lot of them (if not all in some way) are connected to my financial situation, as this is the biggest problem at the moment. Although, I know that there are a lot of people in much worse situation, I am also aware that in case of any emergency, we will struggle to get back on our feet, if we will not fix it as soon as possible.

This is one of the reasons why we need to set up a routine. Having me and my husband working full time is helping us to keep paying our debt relatively quickly. But it also makes it very hard to manage. We were advised to employ someone to look after our son while we are in work. But I can’t trust any stranger to look after such small baby, especially that even if something would go wrong, he wouldn’t be able to tell us. This forced us to work in different shifts and as I can’t imagine being all day away from my son, I’ve chosen night shift (night shifts are hard too, but at least when I am working, little guy is sleeping most of the time).

There are some small things I would like to achieve in our family life, even though me and my husband are working on different shifts. I wish to be able to spend as much quality time with my son as it is possible, I would like to spend time with my husband and make sure that both of us can have time for ourselves (whether it is for working on personal projects or just relaxing). I want to make sure that our home is clean and that there is always food in our fridge too. It might seem impossible, especially with a small child. Some of you might think that I am neglecting my son just because I am working full time and I, dreaming about free time, might seem like a horrible mother. But I am a true believer that sacrificing all your dreams and goals for a baby will not do well for you and at the end for your child. Also, I think that being able to get an extra income is good for my son too. Hopefully, very soon will be able to put some funds aside for his future, we’ll be able to buy a home, so wherever life is going to take my son, he’ll always have a place to come and forget about all his problem. And finally, we’ll be able to provide for his development, give him opportunities to find his way, by simply being able to afford things, he wants to try.

Kids are very amazing and they learn unbelievably fast. But at the same time, they are not reading books or taking various courses secretly. They are learning by watching their surrounding. Especially in the beginning of their lives, we, as a parents, are all their world. I want to create believe in my son’s head that he can manage a lot of things, without neglecting anything, as long as he will try very hard. And that if you work hard on something you love doing, you can steer your life in any direction you want.

Altgough, I would like to share our routine now, I haven’t found any so far. We are still testing and keep changing small bits and pieces of it. I might be even wrong and I can’t make it work for all of my requirements, but about this I am going to tell you, when we are going to find something what will be at least the best for us.

And this is it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it. If yes, I will appreciate if you will like this post and leave your thoughts in this subject in the comment section (I will be happy to read and reply to every single comment). But for now I wish you all a very productive day and I’ll see you in my next post.

Priorities and their impact on my life

Hi guys,

Today I would like to share with you some of my thoughts about priorities. I’ve heard a lot of opinions, that you can’t have a family and pursue your career at the same time. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who are managing it just fine.

If you are reading my posts since some time, you will already know it, but if you are new: I have recently became a mother to a cute little guy, who brights my life each and every day. But he provides for me a full time, unpaid job as well. If you will look at dates of my posts, you will see that I haven’t been posting regulary since some time and reasons for it are my priorities.

I figured out that the most important thing for me now is my family. But at the same time, my brain convinced itself, that I can’t be a good mother and a good wife and do stuff which I love too (one of them is writting posts for this blog). I thought about leaving my university too. Fortunately, my husband helped me while I was going through all this stuff and made me understand few things. Here are they:

Baby is a joy, not just a responsibility

Ok, I knew this. Although, they were extremely hard four months since my son was born, each time when I can’t see him for a while (when I am at work for example), make me miss him so much. All 12 hours I spend working, I just can’t wait to see my son’s cute smile when he sees me for the first time after I was away. No matter how tired I am, it is just melting my heart and I am forgeting everything. But there is also time, when I just have a feeling that everything I do now is connected to baby: feeding, changing nappies, cleaning and sterylising bottles, bathing, etc. It takes huge amount of time out of my day. Especialy, when I am after my night shift, I just sleep and look after my baby. Nothing more at all. There is no “me” time. But now I understand, that this is what I love. Waking up being exhausted, just to see smile on my son’s face, just because he wanted to simply be in my arms for a while. To see how he finaly tries to talk (I mean he thinks so, it is more of weird sounds, he is making), catch some toys with his tiny hands… These are the best moments in my life.

Better organisation is the key

And this is something what I am trying to encourage you since this blog exists, but I have forgotten about it when I needed it the most. Having a baby doesn’t mean that you are busy all the time. Babies sleep during the day too. And what you’ll do with this time, depends on you. There are many options: youtube, netfix, some games, or you can just get productive and get your stuff done. You might just take a nap, so you’ll stop be so grumpy πŸ˜‰ whatever you choose, is good. Just don’t complain about this choice.

And now coming back to priorities. At the moment the most important thing in my life is family. But at the same time, I know that my son will learn by watching me. If he sees me grumpy and so unhappy about life, he will be same. This is why it is so important for me to find a balance between my career and family. Although, I can’t share any idea with you at the moment and I know it is going to be hard, I also know that I have to do this. So here I am, back after another break. I hope, that this time it is a last one.

Why to delegate or automate your work?

Hi guys,

Today I would like to tell you about getting help. Provided that your personal projects are developing well, you are going to have more and more tasks. If you turn them into the bussiness, there will be a lot of accountancy job, bussiness management things, etc. Plus, there might be some regular tasks, which you can automate or delegate to someone, like sending out your products to your customers and dealing with problems connected to it.

But why do you want to do this? You need to remember that in any kind of bussiness, if you are not moving forward, in reality you are going back. Not being able to provide new services or products to your clients will eventually make you stay behind your concurence. Because in today’s running world people are looking for newer and newer things and solution each day, whatever you are offering to the market at this moment will get outdated relatively quickly (like other companies will have it updated or customers will already have your product, so they will not need to buy another one).

Getting rid of unneccessary tasks will give you more time for work that really matters. You’ll be able to upgrade your service or product or come out with the new one, what will provide for you and your family, when your old product will become outdated.

The other thing are preferences. I wish to be able to go for holiday with my family or just spend time with them without worrying about work. Having too much on your head might make it impossible. At the moment, all of my project are not considered to be my source of income, yet. They are in early development stage. However, I am already trying to determine, which parts of them I would be able to delegate or automate in the future and how am I going to do this. And of course, it does not have to be your way. I know people who just love what they do and money is just a by-product of something they would be doing any way. I enjoy spending time on my projects as well, but at the same time I wouldn’t like them to become something what I have to do. Also, I would like to be able to provide for myself without having to go to regular work, where my shifts are set and there are only limited days off.

So if you are like me, I highly recommend you to start thinking about delegating and automating your work at planing stage of your work. As some solutions might require some special steps, you need to take in advance, it might save your time in the future.

And with this thought I am going to leave you today. I wish you a very productive day and I will see you in my next post.

What shall I study to find a job after?

Hi guys,

Today I would like to talk about something what have been bothering me for a long time, namely: new responsibilities. As we are all living in rapidly changing world, where we can’t really be sure what is going to happen tomorrow, we are exposed to many unexpected situations. On the top of this, more and more often we can hear, that soon robots are going to replace people in many jobs.

Sometimes, during conversations with my friends, I am finding out that they don’t see any point in further learning, as it will leave them as another uneployed master or phd diploma holder. And unfortunatelly, very often they are right. Especially if they are associating their education with standard institutions only, like schools, universities and some kind of courses on top of that. Even now, we have a lot of people being graduated with the best possible marks, but still struggling to find a job of their dream. But on the other hand, there are a lot of people, who hardly graduated from primary school, but doing great any way.

So what in reality matters when we are trying to plan our future? How to choose a degree, which will not end up as three years being wasted, leaving us with student loan? While thinking about answers for these questions, I came up with some tips for myself:

  • Whatever degree you choose, make sure you have a plan

This is very important thing for me. Starting a university, you are going to learn a lot of various things. At the same time, you are not going to need all knowledge, which you are going to get there. Having some kind of plan might help you decide, on which subjects do you need to focus more and which of them require you to have just some basic knowledge. Even if during your course you’ll change my mind, you will still have basic knowledge to explore the topic much quicker.

  • Make sure that you are going to learn something, what is interesting for you

This is something what a lot of people are forgetting about. Studying for even just three years might be quite a hard task. But if you study something what makes you bored… well, I wish you good luck… But if you are thinking that it is just three years, you can survive it, remember that there are many years of work in choosen profession ahead of you. So maybe it is worthed to consider, wether you really can survive?

  • Don’t focus just on your university work

I think, this is the most important thing. While you are learning, try to find as many opportunities as you can to gain some experience. It is connected with your plan. You might try to gain skills, which you will be able to take advantage in your future work of (and they don’t have to be gained in your dream field of work). Try to meet as many people from your future field. They are experienced and they can keep advising you during your learning process.

  • Don’t stop learning

Having your dreamed job, doesn’t mean that you are done with learning. As I mentioned at the begining, today’s world changes with light speed and you need to keep up with it. So make sure you do and you’ll be able to sleep with peace. If you think that your profession might disappear in short future, learn something new, so you’ll have more opportunities when you are forced to look for new job.

To summarise, living in changing world requires from us much more awareness and taking responsibility for our choices. We can’t think just about present, but we should consider how our skills might help us in the future. Just in case, if what we intend to do, does not exist any more.

And with this thought I will leave you today. I wish you a very productive day and I’ll see you in my next post.

How to win with mistakes?

Hi guys,

Today, I would like to talk about failures in planning. Especially, when you don’t have an experience, you might under-estimate the time, you need to complete particular task. It happened to me last week. I said, that first of my episodes on YouTube is going to be uploaded on last Wednesday or Thursday. However, it had happen, that there was much more work needed to make it presentable, than I thought at the beginning. I haven’t realised, that to meet this deadline I need some more software to proccess my video, after I need to learn (at least on basic level) how to use it, and so on. I also wasn’t aware, that using a completely new kind of program will be so difficult and time-consuming. At least for me (well, actualy I knew, but haven’t thought about it while planning).

So what with my plan? As you can guess, my plan went completely wrong. Everything collapsed just because of one task. And I won’t lie: at the beginning I was about to give up. Just leave all this planning think and try to work like before – without any plan. You know this feeling, when you really want to do something right, but it turns out like always? But fortunately, I have realised, that this is all about. As planning is like riding a bike. Before you’ll become a pro, you need to fall down many times. But if you will give up, you will not even get the idea, how to keep your balance. Same with planning. How you can know, how long particular task is going to take, if you have never tried to plan similar one before?

So when assigning time to tasks you might make a lot of mistakes on the beginning of your planning journey. Maybe just like me, you might not be aware, how particular activity has to be done; or it can simply take longer than you thought it will. But there is no reason to give up on whole plan.

I will share with you some tips on how to actualy minimise consequences of being late because of failing to accomplish one task on time.

Check, if you can reschedule it without major consequences

This is something I failed to do. But before I’ll tell you about it, let me shortly explain, how my planning proccess looks like. Basically, I create huge to-do list filled with task for one week. They are sorted by deadlines and importance. What is kind of important, these task are quite general. Just end product and in reality it contains smaller tasks, which are being assigned to particular day in a week. I don’t plan, what time I am going to do what, as my life style needs a lot of improvements to be called regular. So generally, rescheduling is something new in my planning, which I found out too late. I have spent a lot of time trying to solve one task, which I could easily leave and move deadline (my channel doesn’t have any content yet, so it wouldn’t let anyone down – except me). Instead, I have focused on it ignoring other tasks, so they became late (like my last post being uploaded one day later and today’s three hours later). But this is something I am going to try next time, hopefully πŸ˜‰

Analyse your mistakes and learn from them

This rule actually applies not only to planning, but to every aspect of our lifes. It is important to, whenever you make mistake, try and find the reason causing it. Maybe you were too tired, or you have underestimated time needed for your task. Maybe you have just scheduled too much and you had no chance to cope with it (it still happens to me, sometimes). There might be a lot of reasons and it is crucial to find them and try to avoid them in the future.

Don’t think about past mistakes

You know, past is past. You can’t change it. Just learn your lesson (after analysing it) and don’t think about it any more. It will not help you at all. It happened already. Going over it again and again might make you fail with next tasks. So don’t bother any more. And start this next task you have planned. It will have much better consequences than crying about the thing, that can’t be changed.

Don’t be afraid to change the way you plan

I know, this is very painfull, when you invented perfect way to plan. But hey! It doesn’t work! You don’t need to change whole system. Just try to incorporate small changes at the time, so you can find something what works better for you. And keep in your mind possibility of mistakes (propably it will take some time till you will stop doing them). So next time you will be prepared and you’ll be able to nail it, even with this small failure in the background.

Don’t give up

This is actualy the worst thing you can do (and I almost did it). As long as you keep going, you still have chance to get everything done (even if it will be slightly later than you wanted, it is still better than if you wouldn’t done it at all).

And this is all for today’s post. I hope it is helpfull for you. As always, I wish you very productive day and I’ll see you in my next post.

Happy New Year! And 2018 resolutions :)

Hi guys,

As this end of the year was just crazy, full of unexpected events, guests and many, many beautifull moments, I’ve decided to take break (well, not first time, any way). People, who I haven’t seen for ages came to share this special time with me. Huge surprise, but how amazing at the same time!

Any way, today, while everyone is getting ready for New Year’s party, I’ve decided to use this time to write something for you, guys. First of all: Happy 2018 Year! I wish all your dreams will come true this year and I hope that this 2017 year, we are saying goodbye to, left some great memories in your hearts.

Tomorrow, we are going to start with new, blank page to write on. When I was a child, I liked to think about new year like this. Everything what have been good in all years was kept in memory, but all bad things have been forgotten. That time I was writting in my journal. Everything what happened each day, used to be documented. And by everything, I mean everything. I went to school – in my journal; I ate chocolate bar for snack – in my journal; even I thought at some point of the day, that it would be nice if it were snowing – guess what? – I can read it now, in my journal πŸ˜€ So unexpected, isn’t it πŸ˜€

I’ve lost my point: every year I used to buy new notebook to write in, so for me new year really meant a new blank page (or better notebook). Every 1st of January, when I used to sit behind my desk to tell about everything what happened, there was nothing to come back to. No bad bad things, only good things in my memory. Believe me, amazing feeling!

Nowadays I don’t have journal (well, I have my bullet journal, but let’s be honest: I use it more as a planner, than a place where I can just write every single detail of my day), but I found my old ones. And in the begining of each of them, there is some short summary of my previous year’s resolutions and new year’s resolutions. Every year very ambitious (like for a child), but what is most important, at the end of almost every year, they were just done. In all of my summaries it was written: this was something I wanted to do in the beginning of 2000 year and I’ve done it in this month. Unbelievable!

A the moment, I still do my resolution list, but let’s be honest, by the end of the year I don’t even have an idea, where this list is gone. So today, I am going to share with you some goals for 2018 year (I have another, bit bigger list in my bullet journal, but forgive me leaving my personal goals in secret πŸ˜‰ ).

2018 resolution list:

  • Keep my schedule of blog posts

As you might remember, I introduced my schedule some time ago and so far following it was just a fail. Huge fail! So at the end of the year I want to be able to say: Hey, for the whole year I kept publishing my posts ON TIME!”.

  • Bring projects from my head into the reality

You might know about some of those projects, as I wrote about them in my very first post. By now, I have few new one, being ideas in my head. Some of them where supposed to be ready by now… well.. This year, I want to work seriously hard and handle maximum two big projects at the time. And what really important, I want to have plan: my projects divided into small tasks with deadlines. Hopefully, before 2018 will end, you will already know, that some of them are actually done.

  • Start doing my university assignments when they are posted, not week before deadline

Yep, even if I know, that something will take a lot of time, I procrastinate it a lot, so when I am starting, I have only little time to finish it (be honest, not as well as I wish to) and only if I will not sleep for at least two or three nights providing my organism with huge ammount of coffee. Well, this new year I want to change it.

  • Last, but not least is to be more consistent

This is the harder one for me. I like to start a lot of different things, but quite quickly I am giving up. Even before I am able to judge, whether this particular activity is right for me or not. This was always a big challenge for me, but since this year, I want to make sure, that whatever I will start doing, I will do it consistently for at least half year.

And those are all my resolutions I want to share. There are some more, but as I said before, they are very personal.

So again, I wish you a happy New Year. I hope it will be much better than 2017 (even if 2017 was perfect, it can always be better πŸ˜‰ ). Now I wish you great new year’s party. I hope you will enjoy it and stay safe.

I’ll see you in brand new 2018 year.

Daria

P.S. I will up date post after New Year with New Years cover photo πŸ˜‰

Art of saying “No” (days eight to eleven)

Hi guys,

Today again after some break (I think it’s four days). And unfortunately now I have no choice, but change days when posts are going to be published. Instead of every day, posts are going to be published every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (except that yesterday it wasn’t any and one is today instead) and self-development’s book post is going to be published every Wednesday. All those changes, because I have been asked to work for two months, as my friend is going for holiday. So every evening plus full day every Sunday I am going to take her shift. Why? Because even if I knew I won’t have time for much alse, even if I was desperate to say “No”, I’ve said “Yes” instead.

So now after my regular job, I have four hours to be spent in restaurant as a waitress. It has been already one week since I am working like this and I can’t say it’s easy. It’s very hard actually.

To be honest on the beginning I was very upset, because by agreeing, I said “goodbye” to my free time. Now I am still upset, but the reason is different. Because of lack of time, I need to be very choosy, if it is about spending my time. I can’t do everything, so I needed to set priorities, what have been very hard for me since I remember (I’ve just wanted to do everything at the same time). But now, I have huge opportunity to practise this.

And any way, now, when I have only 2-4 hours every day, I can get skills, which are going to be very usefull in the future, when I’ll have much more of free time. This is the only think about it, which makes me happy.

I think increasing my free time (and how I am going to do this) is worthed to be mention as well. So as I’ve said before, working for twelve plus hours every day is extremely hard, but not impossible. So I’ve decided, that for next one year I’ll give it a chance. Well, a bit less, as in the end of September my uni starts. But any way, for whole this time, me and my husband (as he admited it is worth trying) are going to work a lot and save as much as we can, so after that, we can slow down without worrying about our finances and fully focus on our personal goals.

So this is a reason why posts are going to appear every second day. As except my two works, I am stil going to work on my personal stuff, so when I’ll be able to slow down, I won’t need to start everything from zero.

Ok, I have written a lot about what had happened and what is going to happen, but let’s talk about right subject of this post.

Art of saying “No”

So during this past week, I have been asking myself, why I have agreed fo all this. I could just say “No” and live like I have been living before. And to be honest, “No” was the most desired word I wanted to say, when my friend asked me for this favour. Well, I haven’t. Why? I was thinking, that I don’t want to make her life hard (if she wouldn’t find anyone to take her place, after coming back she would be without job).

And I think this is the reason, why a lot of us is doing things, we don’t realy want. We are trying to please everyone else, but ourselves. I’ve catched myself on doing this many times. Especially when I was much younger (well, now I’ve presented, that not too much had changed since that time). I have been doing some things to make others happy. Even if it wasn’t so exciting for me.

So this is my new goal: learn how to say no.

And I don’t mean, that I am not going to help anyone. It isn’t about it. But next time I am going to make sure first, that this is not going to be harmful for me. If I am not going to sacrifise something, what is very important to me, I will propably be very happy to help. I’ve realised, that after all, I need to care for myself, as there aren’t a lot of people who will do this if I won’t.

Ok, I think for today that’s all what I wanted to share (as this post is being produced in bus on my way back home). I will see you tomorrow in next post. But for now, I wish you productive day and ability to say “No”, when it’s neccessary.

PS. I’ve decided, that I will keep skipping daily summary and replace it with weekly one. In tomorrow’s post I am going to explain in details why, but to make it short: I’ve decided to focus on one thing each day. So if summary will contain only one thing, there is no point of having one.

My dreams and plan how to make them happen

Hi guys,

It’s just happening! All my goals (without those too personal, of course) and everything what I am going to do to actually achieve them in one place! This is one of my dreams becoming reality.

So maybe short explanation: why on the internet? why not in any kind of notebook, file on my computer or anything like that, what I can keep for my personal use only? Answer for those question is very simple: because I need motivation. Even for such simple thing like tracking my goals progress. I use to have a lot of tries to have them written anywhere and any time I do something, I can just come back to them and mark what have been done. I’ve really tried. But always something happened. I’ve left my notebook in random place (like my friend’s home) and all my goals stayed there for quite long time. I had an excel file, but when my computer died, my file was gone as well.

So maybe all that list weren’t necessary? Well, they were. At least for me. It’s very motivating, when you have every goal, dream and habit you want to implement into your life in one place. That gives you some kind of peace of mind and let some thoughts like: “Ok, there is ton of work to be done, but I’ve done this, so I am one step closer” come into your mind. This is some kind of motivation on it’s own. You see how every activity you do, brings you closer to become who you are.

Ok, I’ve explained, I hope. And I don’t want to make my first post too long, so let’s talk about my actual goals. Most of them require long time to actually achieve them, but no mater what result it would be, I think it is worth trying.
1. Design my own website.

So this is kind of goals which doesn’t want to leave me, no matter what I do. I already have some clue about topic and form of my website, where I am going to upload reviews of book (you don’t know yet, but reading is my passion). But before I’ll start I need to learn some stuff and improve the other. Here is a short list:

  • learn HTML and CSS (as these are the programming languages I am going to use, at least in the beginning)
  • code my website
  • improve my English skills (as you could already realize, I have a lot to do about this)
  • prepare content (just read books and keep writing reviews – what is actually great, as same time I am going to improve my English skills – everyone wins).

2. Release my own app.

This is something what appeared in my head not too long ago, when I realized that most of apps I am using, are not good enough. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t thing they are bad. A lot of them are just great. The only thing is, that I would add some features, which I would use or just remove some which I don’t need. So I thought: “Daria, why cannot you just make your own one?”.

But for now, I am going to leave details about this, as first I will try to work on my website. When it will be launched, I’ll start going into my own app πŸ˜‰ One thing at the time πŸ˜‰

3. Learn Arabic language.

This is another dream of those never going away from my head. It’s hard to explain it, but Arabic language always attracted me. Even if I hadn’t had too much contact with this language, I think the way it sounds is beautiful.

4. Become more active.

This is something connected with well-being. All my previous goals require from me huge amount of time spent in sitting position. Well, let say I wouldn’t like to wake up one day realizing that I am not able to walk for longer than 15 minutes without being breathless. It would be scary for me. So I decided some jogging or bike every day won’t harm me, will it?

5. Post every day on this blog.

This is idea of having this blog. As to write anything here, I have to do something to have to write about (what means: get closer to make my dreams become a reality).

I’ve gave myself a deadline, so I would like, that every day at 11 pm (according to London’s time and of course except today, which appeared much earlier) I will upload new post. So it will give me some time after my work, to do anything I can write about.

I would like to make this blog look more my way. But as this is my first blog in my life, I just need to look little bit deeper into it. Tomorrow I’ll try to take some shots and at least use my own pictures instead of those, I am using at the moment.

Those are my five main goals at the moment. I have some more, but I need to to be realist: with my university starting after around 1 month and my work, I won’t have as much time as I wish I had. Every goal, which will be achieved or activity which will become my habit will be replaced with next one.

I hope you like this post. Please leave any suggestion or opinion in comment below. And I’ll see you tomorrow in next post.

Daria.

P.S. Today I’ve done some activities, which made me a little closer, but I’ve decided that my tracking I’ll start tomorrow, as this post became quite long already. I realized, that I forgot about one of the most important habit I want to implement into my life which is to make plans for the next day. So I’ve done one for tomorrow πŸ˜‰

Have a nice evening πŸ™‚
